Moody wrote this book in 1896 to encourage believers in the
daily struggle of Christian warfare. “The world, the flesh, and
the devil are too much for any man,” Moody says. “But if we are
linked to Christ by faith . . . we shall get the victory over
every enemy.“ This classic includes The Way to God, a companion
book he wrote in 1884, in which he lovingly instructs Christians
on how to draw nearer to God and warns against backsliding.
These books, along with other rare, shorter Moody works and a
riveting biography comprise this truly compelling volume.
Well-known
as The Evangelist of the Nineteenth Century, Dwight Lyman Moody
(1837-1899) lived out his passion to preach the gospel with
humility, simplicity and power to a lost and dying world—leading
sinners to the Savior and equipping them as His disciples. Much
of Moody’s early ministry was with the youth at the YMCA. During
the Civil War he served with the U.S. Christian Commission,
seeing many suffering and dying men come to Christ. As a team,
Moody and Ira Sankey evangelized and ministered in cities across
America and in numerous European countries where revivals were
born and thousands came to faith. D. L. Moody founded Moody
Bible Institute in Chicago.
