"And
there was war in heaven: . . ." (Revelation 12:7) |
| The enemy of our souls is waging a
vicious war against our young people. There's now a website
on the Internet called blasphemychallenge.com that
challenges young people who profess to be atheists to place
their souls on the line by stating in a video that they deny
the existence of the Holy Spirit. According to the site's
founders this will prove that they're not afraid of God
because Mark 3:29 says that if you blaspheme the Holy Spirit
you can never be forgiven. In the site's instructions, a
link is provided to upload their video to YouTube, where
anyone on the Internet can see it, and where it will become
so well known that the young people who do this will never
live it down. One young person said that he knows exactly
what he is doing, he's daring God to send him to hell. "We
want to show that we really mean it when we say we don't
believe a word in this book." He means the Bible.
When I visited the site and saw all the young girls and
boys there, I was shaken by the horror of what these young
people think they are doing, this false bravado, this
shaking their fists in the face of God. I thought of what
Jesus said on the Cross about those who crucified Him,
"Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."
Surely He is praying the same thing for these young people,
even as we should.
As Christian parents, we need to work as we never have
before to bring up our children in the knowledge of the
Lord, to help them to be godly children, and to make wise
choices in their lives, choices based upon the Word of God.
Mothers must pray and nurture, and fathers must protect and
guide.

Fathers & Daughters |
|
The new book by the father and
daughter team of David Barrett and Eylsse Barrett,
is appropriately titled,
Fathers & Daughters ...
Raising Polished Cornerstones. One version of the Bible,
from which the subtitle is taken,
quotes Psalm 144:12 as saying, "...that our daughters may be
as cornerstones, polished after the likeness of a palace."
Endorsements
"IF AMERICANS PUT INTO PRACTICE in their homes what David
and Elysse share in this book from their relationship and
insight, we will raise up a generation of polished
cornerstones to the glory of God and the preservation of the
family and our nation." —REV. PATRICK MAHONEY, Director,
Christian Defense Coalition
"I APPLAUD THE EFFORTS of David Barrett and his daughter,
Elysse, to call fathers and daughters back into right
relationship with God and each other." —SKEET SAVAGE,
Founder, Wisdom's Gate

Your Attitude Determines Everything |
My servant Caleb has a different attitude, and has
wholeheartedly followed me. (Numbers 14:24, Berkeley
Bible)
Caleb went against the crowd and popular opinion. While the
majority thought the giants were too big and God's people
were too small, Caleb never doubted God for a minute. The
miracles proved that nothing was too big for God to handle.
The manna proved He cared and that every need would be
supplied. So with a God like this, how can you fail?
Listen: "Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said,
Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able
to overcome it" (Numbers 13:30). What an attitude! If only
they'd listened. But no; their negative attitude landed them
in the wilderness - for 40 years! Doubt and unbelief will
always lead you into the wilderness. Grumbling and
complaining will fill your life with barrenness. John Mason
says, "It's your attitude that determines your altitude.
You'll never rise any higher than it." Caleb had a different
attitude and look at the results he got: "Hebron therefore
became the inheritance of Caleb... because that he wholly
followed the Lord God of Israel" (Joshua 14:13).
How's you're attitude and your outlook
today?
