"Whatsoever is good for God's children they shall have it;
for all is theirs to help them towards heaven; therefore if
poverty be good they shall have it; if disgrace or crosses
be good they shall have them; for all is ours to promote our
greatest prosperity."Robert

"Christ never undertakes to heal any but He makes a certain
cure, 'Those whom thou givest me I have kept, and none of
them is lost' (John 17:12). Other physicians can only cure
them that are sick, but Christ cures them that are dead,
'And you that he quickened who were dead in trespasses and
sins' (Ephesians 2:1)."
Thomas Watson
"When God calls a person, He does not repent of it. God does
not, as many friends do, love one day, and hate another; or
as princes, who make their subjects favorites, and
afterwards throw them into prison. This is the blessedness
of God's saints; their condition admits of no alteration.
God's call is founded on His decree, and His decree is
immutable. Acts of grace cannot be reversed. God blots out
His people's sins, but not their names."

Who Is Jesus? |
 There's
a story told that a few years ago in Rome, all the great
leaders, theologians, and religious scholars of every major
religion on earth met for the purpose of developing a
single, united, religion. A religion that would satisfy the
theologies and doctrines of everyone's religion. A religion
that would forever eliminate all the disharmonious religious
beliefs throughout the world, and create a single religion
of true love and personhood. While the meeting was in
solemn progress, there suddenly appeared in the midst of
these esteemed religious leaders, theologians, and religious
scholars, Jesus of Nazareth and the Apostle Peter.
Standing before these illustrious men and women, Jesus asked
them, "Who do you say that I am?"
Momentarily startled by His appearance, yet willing to
concede that if Jesus was going to appear to anyone He would
certainly appear to them, the gathering quickly conferred.
Suggestions and counter-suggestions flew back and forth as
the representatives of each religion gave their opinions,
voiced their beliefs, and defended their doctrines.
Finally, after much talking and note taking, a spokesperson
for the gathering stepped forward and said: "You are the
essence of the universe, the oneness of creation, the
indwelling life of all matter, the supernatural
manifestation of the omnipotent Godhead, the embodiment of
perfection. You are the essential reflection of the
omnipresent Father-God."
The speaker paused for a moment, took a deep breath, looked
inquiringly at Jesus to make certain He was listening, and
then continued: "You are the omniscient source of all
physical, spiritual, and scientific knowledge. You are the
manifested example of perfection obtainable by all men and
women. You are the universal maximized paragon of strength,
kindness, goodness, gentleness, and spiritual quality that
all humanity is urged to emulate."
There was a smattering of applause from the gathering, which
the spokesperson modestly acknowledged before sitting down
and looking expectantly toward Jesus for His approval.
Jesus sighed deeply and was silent for a moment. Then He
turned to the Apostle Peter and said, "But
who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter answered and said, "You
are the Christ, the Son of the living God!"

The Blood of Jesus Christ,
God's Son, Continually Cleanses Us From All Sin
(1 John 1:7) |
One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main
streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary
when the roads are wet and slick. Suddenly, my son Matthew
spoke up from his relaxed position in the front seat. "Mom,
I'm thinking of something."
This announcement usually meant he had been pondering some
fact for a while and was now ready to expound all that his
seven-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear.
"What are you thinking?" I asked.
"The rain," he began, "is like sin and the windshield wipers
are like God, wiping our sins away."
After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to
respond. "That's really good, Matthew."
Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little boy
take this revelation? So I asked, "Do you notice how the
rain keeps on coming? What does that tell you?"
Matthew didn't hesitate one moment with his answer: "We
keep on sinning, and God just keeps on forgiving us."

Christ Heals With Ease |
|
"Christ heals with more ease than any other. Christ makes
the devil go out with a word (Mark 9:25). Nay, He can cure
with a look: Christ's look melted Peter into repentance; it
was a healing look. If Christ doth but cast a look upon the
soul He can recover it. Therefore David prays to have a look
from God, 'Look Thou upon me, and be merciful unto me'
(Psalm 119:132)." (Thomas Watson) |
