A. B. Simpson
The chief danger of the Church today is that it is trying to
get on the same side as the world, instead of turning the
world upside down. Our Master expects us to accomplish
results, even if they bring opposition and conflict.
Anything is better than compromise, apathy, and paralysis.
God give to us an intense cry for the old-time power of the
Gospel and the Holy Ghost!
A. W. Tozer
The true follower of Christ will not ask, "If I embrace this
truth, what will it cost me?" Rather he will say, "This is
truth. God help me to walk in it, let come what may!"

Charles H.
Spurgeon
Beware, I pray you, of presuming that you are saved. If your
heart is renewed, if you hate the things that you once
loved, and love the things that you once hated; if you have
really repented; if there is a thorough change of mind in
you; if you are born again, then have you reason to rejoice:
but if there is no vital change, no inward godliness; if
there is no love of God, no prayer, no work of the Holy
Spirit, then you saying "I am saved" is but your own
assertion, and it may delude, but it will not deliver you.

In the Service |
|
One Sunday morning, the Pastor of the Fellowship of Saints
church noticed seven-year-old Alex staring at the large
plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. It was covered
with names, and had small American flags mounted on both
sides of it. After watching Alex for some time, the Pastor
walked over to him, stood beside him, and quietly said,
"Good Morning, Alex."
"Good morning, Pastor," said Alex without taking his eyes
off the plaque. The Pastor was curious about why Alex was
staring at the plaque, but he didn't say anything.
After awhile, Alex asked, "Pastor, what is that?"
"Well, son," the Pastor said in his best pastoral tone,
"it's our church memorial of all the young men and women who
died in the service."
He heard Alex gasp slightly, and was pleased that even at
his age Alex grasped the immensity and honor that the plaque
represented. Silently the Pastor and his young parishioner
stood side by side, staring up at the church memorial of all
those who had died in the service.
And then Alex, his voice trembling and nearly breaking,
asked, "Which service—the 9:45 or the 11:15?" |

Is This the Best Book Ever
Written on Faith for Healing? |
Recently a woman bought a copy of
The Real Faith for Healing by Dr. Charles S. Price.
About a week later, she called Beverlee and said she couldn't put
the book down and read it in one setting. She then ordered ten
more copies to give away to members of her prayer group. A
few days after that, we also received an order for 25 copies
from a missionary who was taking them with him to distribute
to pastors in China. While talking with Beverlee, the
woman who bought 10 copies said that one of
the leaders at the Lakeland healing outpouring had stated
publicly that
The Real Faith for Healing was the best book he had ever
read on faith for healing, and that it had greatly increased
his faith. Now we haven't been able to verify that
statement, and we don't know if she heard it directly or was
told it by someone else.
Charles Price is the only person I know of who has
written about "imparted faith," Chapter 8, which Smith
Wigglesworth spoke of in different words, and which George
Muller of orphanage fame termed a "grace level of faith."
Dr. Price says you can no more have true Bible faith without
results than you can have motion without movement, and that
what we often call faith for healing is nothing more than
belief in healing. He explains all this in his book.
Have you read
The Real Faith for Healing, or have you heard any
testimonies for it from the Lakeland folks? If either, we
would sure appreciate you writing us about it:

In the Works |
|
Nothing new to report on the works front. Beverlee is still
editing an author's book and revising the R. A. Torrey book
on prayer, I'm still struggling with the new John G. Lake
book, and we continue to appreciate your prayers for our
work. Harold J. Chadwick |
