Bridge-Logos
Publishers, Brad Henry—author of
Destination–The Winner's Circle, and NASCAR driver Jamie
McMurray have joined together to raise money and awareness of
autism. Brad Henry and Jamie McMurray have at least two things
in common—each have an autistic family member and each are
involved with NASCAR. Jamie's niece and Brad's eight-year-old
son, Chase, are autistic. That's why a portion of the proceeds
from the sale of each book is being donated to the Jamie
McMurray Foundation. |
The purpose of the Jamie McMurray Foundation (JMF) is to promote
awareness of autism and raise funding for research, education,
and support for individuals and families affected by autism.
Because of Jamie's involvement as a race car driver in NASCAR,
JMF will focus much of its activities on promoting a better
understanding of autism in the NASCAR community, and will seek
the financial backing and support of that community, including
NASCAR fans who purchase Destination-The Winner's Circle.
The death of a parent, financial problems, a difficult divorce,
or a child born with physical or mental challenges are only some
of the traumatic experiences that millions of people face
everyday. And when they seem to come fast and furious, many
begin to question their lives. "What true purpose do I have in
this world? Why am I and my loved ones suffering?" "What does
all this mean?" Brad Henry experienced a multitude of
devastating events, one after the other, that made him question
the meaning and purpose of his life.
"I was desperate and didn't know what I needed. I tried
everything under the sun to make me happy but all seemed lost.
One lonely evening in my apartment, I was channel-surfing and
stopped on what I thought was the comedy channel. There was a
man speaking who I did understand at first, and then it seemed
as though he was speaking directly to me. I heard the plan of
salvation for the first tie, and that very evening I received
Jesus Christ and was born again. At last I had the peace that
only God can give.
"Since then, the Lord has allowed me to experience many
tragedies and triumphs so that now I can testify to the goodness
and perfect plan God has for each one of us. All those weird and
horrible things that have happened to me were so that I can tell
stories of God's goodness and share them through the power of
the gospel. I would not change a day of my life, as they have
made me see that the Lord is our only hope for peace, joy, and
salvation."
Destination–The Winner's Circle is a series of devotions
for anyone who is searching for the meaning of life,
afflictions, trials, and success. Based on Henry's racing
experience in college as a runner, and his current work with
NASCAR, Henry will guide you through every leg of life's race,
and show you the way to ultimate victory through Christ Jesus in
every aspect of your life.
Brad Henry is a Sports Licensing Consultant in the sport of
NASCAR. He knows a great deal about racing, for he was a
long-distance runner for the University of Maryland. Upon
graduation, he became an airline pilot. He has owned numerous
businesses. His quest for meaning and fulfillment in his life
led him to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. He lives
in Huntersville, NC, with his wife, Julie, and their two sons,
Bryce and Chase. |

Praise for
Destination-The Winner's Circle |
"Brad Henry's book fills a need where the 'rubber meets the
road'" (B. Houck of Millbridge, NC).
"This is no ordinary devotional . . . Henry will bring you to
tears on one day and send you to the floor in laughter the next
. . . but always, always, challenge you to make your day count
for something" (J. R. Ray, Nashville, TN).
"His devotions touch us where we are in our everyday life, and
encourage us to run the race in such a way that we may win!"
(David Ring, evangelist).
"Thanks for your heart and passion to serve . . . Each day when
I first look at your devotion title, I know that I am going to
be challenged when I read it. You have a real knack for reaching
to the deeper things in life" (Marcus Smith, Executive Vice
President, Speedway Motorsports, Inc.).
"I am constantly amazed by how many people I encounter who know
Brad Henry! Everywhere I turn in the NASCAR community, people
know Brad. Most of the time they know about him because of his
writings, and they tell me how his writings speak amazingly to
the issues they are facing. Brad's network of friendships is a
testimony to the kind of person he is—one who willingly serves
others. This is especially true in the NASCAR community that MRO
serves. The fact that Brad's writings have already touched so
many lives is as good a guarantee as you can get that his
writings will always encourage and inspire you" (Billy E.
Mauldin, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of Motor
Racing Outreach).
